The Components of Stainless Steel Cookware
There are different cookware materials, and one of the most durable is stainless steel. The primary component of steel is iron; but to fabricate stainless steel cookware, the iron is mixed with other alloys. Nickel, copper, and titanium are added in varied proportions. The cookware is considered a stainless steel if it has at least 12 percent chromium.
For most cooking wares, stainless steel is only employed as cooking surface, not for the whole product. In some cases, the main component for the mould is aluminium because it heats faster. But some chemicals from this material could separate during the heating process, so the cookware is coated with stainless steel to make the finished product durable, easy to wash, and safe.
Chromium is added while making stainless steel cookware to prevent quick corrosion and rusting. Plus, it gives the item its normal high gloss. Another stainless steel component is nickel, which gives the cooking product the capability to endure high heating temperature. It also provides higher durability for the finished merchandise.
